Hard To Gulp Poem by Pallavi Tripathi

Hard To Gulp

Rating: 4.9

I stared at phone for umpteenth time
Just to see if you've seen my messages. Wind chime
Remind me of your presence
Of our time together, now your absence,
Which like this poem
Is hard to gulp, lost rhythm.

The beauty of wind chimes is that intervals between notes convey the wind's mood, even though there is no rhythm.

It is wonderful to say that the wind chimes remind you of time together with someone, but also someone's absence. This conveys the sweet confusion of love: the future of the relationship is still up in the air.

These moments can be so frustrating and painful. May your poem be a cathartic release for you. Failing that, call (not text) him from another phone number. Wishing you a positive outcome, Pallavi!
