When I came to this world,
Born was I a free bird—
Worry was there nor yet a let,
Easy were my needs met.
On my wish world to greet
God gave me eyes and feet,
‘Pon my wish, world to hear
A pair of ears that I do hear.
And hungry I hardly went—
Mother's milk enough He sent;
Variety of food He sent with,
I grew when pearly white set of teeth.
But as I grew, I learnt to nag,
Whatso ere was my bare need
Which, greater grew now unto greed,
My prayers were alibis to beg.
My fond wishes turned to wants,
Wants grew as wanton weeds,
Dreams, into den of daunting haunts—
And unto penitent mind's pleads.
Sent here to celebrate blissful joy,
Look here goes a mere beggar boy!

This is really a beautiful poem on greed and beggar having impressive expression with broad outlook. I love the most lines are....And hungry I hardly went— Mother's milk enough He sent; Variety of food He sent with, I grew when pearly white set of teeth TFS.10
Yes Kumarmani Mahakul these lines seem to stand out as compared to others. Thanks for your evaluation.
A wonderful and perceptive poem, Sir. A great observation on human character. Man's desires will never cease. There is no contentment in life. A unique write to convey wisdom. Masterfully written.
Greed is the greatest enemy of a man...the contented man is the happiest man on the earth! Simply one needs to control his/her desire to the extent possible! An insightful piece of work sir....10
