Have mercy Lord!
help me in unlearning thoughts,
weary, injured, bleeding thoughts!
I can't forget that painful time,
that horrid sight,
that silent, solemn, moonless night,
when mind was full of unknown fears,
shaky hopes, and wishful prayers...
Have mercy God!
can I forget
those passing moments
when he was counting his noble,
worthy, lively breaths-
those lively breaths
which were losing by and by
the warmth of life.
Then passed the time
and passed the night
there came at last his last breath…
with the birth of the day
a Sun was dying
to rise again
in a blind vale,
the valley of the pious souls…
since then O Lord,
my eyes are probing in the dark
to see him again
but all in vain…
Much time has passed
But still my mind
Is conscious
Of the ups and downs
Of treasured but his last breath
Beautiful, beautiful. He must have been a wonderful man it is fitting that his spirit should aid you in your dreams.
Those passing moments will always be etched in the mind. Pious soul performed his duty. Now the living must live up to his expectation.
this is a beautiful write Shahzia. Very heart touching Something that will linger forever
How alike, both of us are in our sharing of the last moments of the one whom we held so dear in life! I can very well gauge the depth of feeling, you had for your father! Our parents were beacons of light and their absence only enhances the light they once shed in our lives! A moving write Shahzia! !
beautiful write....stunningly so...emotive and fervent. parental love is a measured cup....an aliquote, if i may say so. there is so much strength in this tender and helpless write. kudos!
Wonderful composition. A very tender and emotional tribute, befitting to the one who, by the grace of God, is partially responsible for you being here. He who was your guardian in this life. Nurturer, protector, provider – all that is found in the essence of a good father. And you were blessed to have had him. (I am deeply sorry for your loss.)
