I fear death
I fear evil
I fear cruel and heartless people
I fear guns
I fear strangers
I fear things we say in anger
I fear loss
I fear the pain
I fear the world has gone insane
Elisabeth Wingle 2015
are the foreigner poets who commented missing it or am i? ? or are they too polite to mention it (or am i mistaken? ; heaven forbid!) ? ? did you really mean word or did you REALLY MEAN world? ? ha ha i liked the feel of this and the rhyming. take two aspirins, lock your doors, and put the police on speed dial. have a good night! bri :) p.s. which good-looking woman is you in the photo? :) AND, welcome to PH!
Thank you for the correction, I do proofread, honestly. I just don't do it very well. It is refreshing to meet someone one PH, that has a sense of humor! As we all say please feel free to read and review my poems I am the blonde, which I never ever thought I would say. I am a natural born brunette, who in a moment of insanity colored my hair. It's back to normal I need to put up a new pic!
We all need to stand together. Fear is there but the alternative is we give in. Thankyou for your wonderful lines.
Fear - a conglomeration of sinister shadows without substance is aptly depicted in the piece. A well texted and nicely drafted poem. Thanks for sharing Anne.
ironically, death is the only thing you fear which is SURE to keep you safe from everything else. WELLLLL, there is HELL! some believe it anyway. i don't. a fine listing of fears with a nice rhyming ending. thanks for offering this as an addition to my/our September showcase. this shall be in Section A .....soon. bri :) and to MyPoemList
Nice writing, fearness is a poison of heart, Please read my poem on fearness.
I see you and Bri have put the world aright. Don't worry, we all make mistakes, as an ex-girlfriend said looking pointedly looking at me! It's bed time here in the Uk so I'll sign off till tomorrow. It's been a great evening reading your work.
ok, NOW i see your answer to my comment. and, NO, i do not recall ever seeing it. these responses don't seem to come to my inbox with other messages and i would rarely return to a poem's page to look for one. blonde! when i was about to retire from being a post office window clerk, i considered dying my hair blond, mostly for shock value, but my concern for the environment and for my wallet and my health kept me the beautiful brunette i USED to be! bri :) ok, , if you and wes wish me to be part of the 'couplet team', have wes contact me again and i'll see what i can do for ya.
