I Have Often Heard... Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

I Have Often Heard...

I have often heard my aunt say that
Antiques have a value more than
What they could fetch on sale
I Have always felt those words sound antic,
Have dumped whatever my parents
Had left with me in the attic

I have, of late, found a handful of ants
Visiting my attic more often
Antiquity they- perhaps only the ants knew
How dearly they had them acquired
Antiquarians they, teach me a lesson or two
In lieu of my modern antiquated attitude!

Beautiful, we always have lessons to learn from everyone and everything, even the mighty little ant. Imagination and wisdom, a great mix for a poem. Thank you very much for sharing :)

Legacy lovers are in favor of antiques for then if ants use antics as fodder oh gosh… Well may give rise to controversy if we shun antique and accept modernity some time after modern will become antique…like fashion only question of time to be back Great write Sir 10++ Ms. Nivedita UK
