I knew
when you stopped looking in my eyes during lovemaking.
I knew
when you said you liked me a lot
and the word love you forgot
I knew
when you didn't care if I was hurt
the effort to reassure your love for me
was time not worth
I knew
When you abandoned me
in my darkest hour
I knew
you are not my soulmate
the moment your sweetness became sour

And the way you used 'I knew' alone on several lines is 'ideal', I THINK. : )
'sour'............That seems to 'sum it up' pretty well. Yes, the changed title I like better; it fits better for sure.
