I Love To Hear You Laugh Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

I Love To Hear You Laugh

She lives in a fantasy world
In swirls and swirls of pink cotton candy
With ferris wheels and laughing clowns who had
Painted faces, big purple shoes and tall yellow hats with
Red polka dots and black gloves with green neon fingers,
Each with a bell that made her laugh.
She rode on carrousel with pastel horses and music
That played for hours and hours to her heart's content.
Oh how she loved the big hot air balloons that took her
High in the rainbow sky.
At night she did cart wheels with falling stars and
Skated with moonbeams that played silver guitars.

She danced on fluffy clouds that ticked her nose and
When she was tired she snuggled down in a bed fanned by
Butterflies 'on the edge of a dream' that lulled her to sleep.
She slept safe under the moonlight sky until morning
Came with a sunrise that whispered through her open window.
Soon her mother lifted her up into loving arms and sang the
Same lullaby she had heard in her beautiful fantasy world.
