I Pray To God - Poem by Jalbert Michell Hernandez

When I lay my head down
I found my self-alone,
Trapped between melancholy walls,
I want to run away,
However, I’m tight to the world.

I want a new horizon,
Nevertheless, I can’t do it on my own,
God, show me the road!
Give me strength on my weaknesses,
To reach your grace,
And end up this loneliness.

My Lord, my friend, my love,
I pray to you every day,
Waiting with hope and faith
To see your light at the end
Of my tunnel.

I offered you my soul,
My body and my mind.
God, fight my wars,
I can’t anymore
I leave my self to your hands,
All I want is your love and peace.

    No better way
    could you so say
    that which you said
    exactly the right way
