Once there was a chicken, small and light,
who dreamed of soaring great heights.
She gazed up high at the bluest of skies,
and wished she could be up there, way up high.
One day, she decided to take flight,
to chase her dream with all her might,
with flaps of her wings, she took to the air,
and soared up high without a single care.
Her feathers ruffled and her heart did race,
she flew through the clouds with a steady pace,
she looked down at the earth so far below,
and felt like she was living a dream that now grows.
She flew like an eagle, strong and free,
a sight that no one thought they'd ever see.
And in that moment, she realized with pride,
that she was capable of anything she decided.
So let this be a lesson to me and you,
to chase our dreams and see them through.
If a chicken can learn to fly like an eagle so high,
there's nothing in this world we cannot try.
Love it! The most cleverly inspiring words I have read in a long time in this now disenhartening world so troublesome and foul! great poem, to be remembered!
Thank you, Absolutely correct you caught the essence of my poem.
Inspirational writing. True! The flip side is, when we have eggs falling on our heads, as David fears! Good one. Thank you
Thank you for humorous comment, They will not lay eggs while flying for very sure, you got the satire and humour which I wanted to communicate through this poem. Thanks again.
Talents differ! A chicken is a chicken and an eagle is eagle! It's utter folishness to expect apple from a mango tree! Your poem has deep philosophical implications...liked it.
Very correct, how about humans altering the state of affairs. We see seedless Papya, watermelons, tomatoes, and grapes and what not and by grafting mangoes grow on Orange tree as well. So you got the satire part in my poem. Thanks you again Dillip Ji.
Great inspiring poem, Like David said I am also visualising chickens flying and Cock following them.
Thank you so much it is just a symbolic, Chicken can only fly for some distance.

I would like to translate this poem
Brilliant write, it put a smile on my face at the thought of chickens taking to the air with eggs falling everywhere! ! !
