If I Could Fly Like A Bird Poem by Walter W. Safar

If I Could Fly Like A Bird

Rating: 5.0

If I could fly like a bird,
I would make a nest atop the highest mountain,
To sing to people about patriotism -
Find your home
In honor, conscience, love, compassion and faith,
So that your flag might wave above all homes to eternity;
Find the sanctity in love and faith,
In the most important deed of your life,
Because in life's sunset it shall be too late to seek a new beginning.
The one who follows the call of conscience
Shall leave deep traces in human memories,
And human memories are like the sands of time,
On the palm of immortality,
When the old soothsayer tells your fortune,
Know that everyone leaves a shadow behind,
The size of their soul's light while they were alive.
All the money, power and glory of this world are in vain
If you remain loveless,
Because love is not a fashion item in the shop window,
But an incorruptible light within the human soul,
Giving birth to inner harmony in the holyness of peace
If you feel cold in midsummer,
Warm yourself and the whole world with a sparkle of love.
In the gardens of truth, you shall find answers to many questions,
The fruits of life you shall reap from your mind and soul creativity,
Because everything is perishable, only the soul is eternal,
Whether you're on the throne or below it,
Whether you're wealthy or poor,
Whether you rule or you're homeless,
Whether you're a warrior or a poet,
Everybody has something in common - to dream,
If I could fly like a bird.

Outburst love that is crystal clear Love that all beings through life steers. If I could fly like a bird Soaring from a far off land to your balcony I shall land Sing sweet songs of eternal love That knows no country, no cast, no creed Knows no gender, no zone, of envy shorn, By time not torn, pure love not.
