If I Were The Only One Poem by Belle Wassermeister

If I Were The Only One

Rating: 4.7

If I were the only poet
left in the world today,
and the writings of all others
were to be swept away,
people would read my stuff and say:
"There are no poets left
in the world today."

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Inspired by the poem "If I Were the Only Poet Left in the World Today" by L. Milton Hankins. Thank you, Reverend Hankins!

Well, yeah, sort of 'no poets left in the world today'. But who needs 'poetS' IF only one is left and THAT ONE is either Belle OR me, Bri? ? ? ? ;) OK, maybe Kim Barney; MAYBE.
