It All Starts Today
It all starts today,
Sun, games, and outdoor play.
Waves crashing and breaking on the shore,
Sand laying there, all piled up, just begging for more.
Barbecues and picnics by the lake,
Eating ice cream, popsicles, or drinking a milkshake.
A tent pitched and ready for the night.
Scary stories and ghostly tales born of the firelight.
No school. No homework. Only fun books to read.
A summer schedule filled with riding bikes and climbing trees.
Summer begins on the twenty-first.
The sun shines bright. Full of heat and ready to burst.
Casting shadows across the ground,
Giving off rays to turn the skin golden brown.
The sun is at it's brightest in the early afternoon,
All this fun starts in the month of June!

Yes, as per the Persian calendar summer starts on June 21st (Tir 1st) Summer is my own favorite season too. since I believe life is more current in summer, congratulations for being selected as the poem of day.
Summer is still a little off, but with this poem you bring it a couple of inches closer! , a sunny poem full of verve and spirit, good choice for Poem of the day!
