It's 'the Emperor's New Clothes' Again

Rating: 4.8

Blindly following the crowd,
A herd mentality.
Mindlessly agreeing
On what they are seeing.
Daring not to speak up
For the obvious truth,
Join in ah-ing and ooh-ing
Like the rest are doing.
Cannot think for themselves,
'Cept the untainted child
Yet unschooled in the ways
Of pretense, and its cloudy haze.

A very nice write …. very timely and appropriate commentary on crowds and people who ooohs and aaahs because it is fashionable to do so.

Thanks, Chito. I actually wrote this on September 3rd, but was hesitant to post it here. Didn't want any misunderstandings. But poetry is often subject to the interpretation of the reader, don't you agree?
