The sound of peace, so sweet,
Is not silence.
The sound of peace
Is words of comfort
Spoken in low tones.
The sound of peace
Is leaves gently swirled
On a soft breeze.
The sound of peace
Is the chirp of the cardinal
Calling to its mate at twilight.
The sound of peace
Is a mother's lullaby
To soothe a fretful child.
The sound of peace
Is a kitten's purr
As it begins to nap.
The sound of peace
Is a crackling fire
On a cold winter's night.
The sound of peace is pleasantly quiet,
But is not silent.
Thank you very much, Prabir. I thank you for reading, and for the generous comment!

Dr. Tony, thank you so much for your sweet and lovely comment! I am touched by what you wrote! Sorry about your mother; she was so very young. There is an old saying that only the good die young.
it would be nice to hear the sound of peace through the world, enjoyed your poem, thank you Alan
Wow...... Meditating as I read each line gave me a perfect feel and a picture of Peace. It is a great experience to feel within and around. Thank you dear, Poetess.

I agree, except that I find that silence is most peaceful. No radio, no TV.
Silence is Golden. There are times when it is absolutely necessary. Thanks, Michael, for commenting.
