Raindrops glistening on tree leaves
Like diamonds in the sun,
Tiny little rivulets
Of water on the run,
Rain cascades from gutters like
A waterfall's begun,
Instant birdbaths for the birds,
They're having lots of fun.
As I listen to the steady
Drip and every drop,
I begin to wonder if
It's ever going to stop!
Trees are bending in the wind
Despite their soaking tops,
My poor balcony's a mess,
I'll have to get the mop!
Wow mesmering raindrops....just don't mop...play with the water. And enjoy..
Wonderfully penned observant poem about the aqueous downfall that forces us to hope that it will soon stop. I enjoyed the humorous ending. Thanks for posting. : -)
Thank you, Tamara, for your positive and encouraging comment! : -)
Nice poem! As a teenage poet I wrote a poem called " Damp Days" in which I complained about excessive rain.
