People confuse it with Canada,
I say, no its Kannada,
Canada with an extra N, and starting with K
They give back the expression saying, no way
There are sixty million speakers I say,
But, the expression puts stay.
I ask them, ever heard of Bangalore or been Bangalored,
The word making waves around the world,
that's where people speak this language, and are proud.
And i hope, concept of Karnataka and Kannada is finally sold.

Hi Vikram: I enjoyed reading your poem. Some of my own heritage is South Asian, so I always enjoy reading literature from that region. If I had any suggestion for you in general, it would be to try and write more poetry without rhyming. As I'm sure you know, it is a more modern approach to write in a freer form. Go for it! At any rate, you makes some very good points in your various poems and do express yourself well. Thanks. Best regards, Anjani Black (Waterloo, Canada)
