Katra Ke Guzar Jaane Ki Aadat Bhi Bahut Hai!
Katra ke guzar jaane ki aadat bhi bahut hai
Kahne ko usey mujh se moHabbat bhi bahut hai
MiTne ki mujhe yaar pe chaahat bhi bahut hai
Aur us ke liye jine ki hasrat bhi bahut hai
Tanhaayi miree baayiS.e wahshat bhi bahut hai
Lekin mujhe tanhaaii se raghbat bhi bahut hai
WadoN ka usey shauq bhi hai sub se ziyadah
WadoN se mukar jane ki aadat bhi bahut hai
Budnaam-e zamaana hooN tire pyaar meN lekin
Duniya meN mire naam ki shohrat bhi bahut hai
Gahraaii hai itni keh koii Doob hi jaye
Waise to un aaNkhoN meN shararat bhi bahut hai
Duniya meN nahiN ishq se baRh ker koii raHat
Ai Aarzoo is kaam meN zillat bhi bahut hai
But you are in habit of loving me often!
I am in habit of erasing me in love,
for erasing I love writing me often.
Loneliness is the cause of my craziness,
But I love a lonely roaming often.
Promises he loves to make so much,
with a habit of denying me often!
In your love I've earned a too bad name,
thanks for your love framing me often.
Sufficient for sinking, your too deep eyes,
a naughtiness too crazing me often.
Oh pleasure of love, the peace you provide,
is followed by fires burning me often.

The poem reminds me of a couple of lines by Janab Makhmoor Jalandhari: पाबंद-ए-एहतियात-ए-वफ़ा भी न हो सके हम क़ैद-ए-ज़ब्त-ए-ग़म से रिहा भी न हो सके दार-ओ-मदार-ए-इश्क़ वफ़ा पर है हम-नशीं वो क्या करे कि जिससे वफ़ा भी न हो सके
This is my second visit to this page. It was after reading the English version of this wonderful Urdu Ghazal done by Akhtar Jawad Sahab, I felt like going back to the original Ghazal. To my amazement, I also found its superb musical rendition by a gifted singer (He surely deserves a credit) . I feel that good poetry has the capacity to touch a million hearts if it gets proper exposure, Thanks, Aarzoo Mehek Sahiba.

An amazing ghazal by Aarzoo Mehek. I have at least two daughters in India. One is Ruma Chaudhry from Kolkotta and the other is Aarzoo Mehek from Hyderabad. Thanks to poemhunter.com I got two more lovely daughters and Now I have four daughters.
