Kavita

Rating: 5.0

Jeun duhkhati
Mana bhitare sadabele
Guru guru heu thae
Phutiba phutiba boli
Phutiparu nathae
Otha upare thara thara kamputhae
Akhi konare ashru bindu hoi basi rahi thae
Chhati tale tira hoi bindhu thae
Puni bele bele
Nai dhara hoi bahi jaae
Baspa hoi dunia khedi jaae
Phula hoi futi jaae
Sieta jibanara kavita
Sabdare chhanda
Sukha Duhkha ra paribhasa.

Hi Bharati, Odiya is Greek to me! Hope you would translate and post in ph. Though, I have found it impossible to translate any of my Malayalam poems into English. May be, I would try to read it again and decipher the meaning, like Sekharan.

Thanks a lot for your encouragement. Most Indian languages have common words as Sanskrit is the source.Odia language have close affinity to Bengali, Assamese and Hindi language. But Odia script is very different from these languages. The letters are round in shape and there is no line above a letter/word.I do not have the software for Odia typing and so can not post poems in Odia script. I am grateful to friends like you and Sri Sekharan Pookkat who encouraged me to make Odia translation of this poem. Please read the English translation of the poem- -namely- 'Poem'

When I read your comment written in a lovely verse of Odia language, it fills my heart with immense joy.Yes, life is a river of joy and sorrow , of winter and spring, of summer and rain.Life has a way to bloom like a new flower in this world garden. Thanks for sharing your marvelous comment.

Revisited this poem for its beautiful construction which sttracts eyes and minds. Though it is in odiya literature yet its penmanship is so high and touchable. Dear poetess Bharati madam your inscription on sadness like a bud going to be effloresced is fantastic. Really it is a great work.
