Kill The Monster - Poem by Madison Parnell

your broken heart hurts too
but theres not much i can do
i can love you with all my heart
but that alone can tear me apart

all this is because of what you do
your killing yourself and you know its true
how could you be hurt so bad you had to do this
one day i will wake up and realize that you no longer exist

needles in your arm, not a tear from your eye
but do you realize every time you do that i cry?
i know its hard honey but you will make it through
i know you can. i believe in you

i know the past is running threw your veins
and i know that all this crazyness is making you insane
its hard to kill the cravings. i know
but this isnt the way to go

this drug, this addiction, its all a disgrace
baby im here for you so why are you doing it, its a waste
i hope i dont live long enough to see your grave
you're screaming for more, but remember its just a crave

kill the monster that eating you from the outside in
dont ever let that damn needle back in your skin
as time goes on the addiction has grown
all because the world has made you feel all alone

like i said its okay to cry about your pains
instead of tying yourself up in all these chains
many people care about you darling all you have to do is look
so why did you start all this. you knew you would get hooked

dont worry so much. you see one day its just the past
you need to be focusing on how to make your life last
and see what has always been here for you
and look at all the good things we all have done for you

i can try to help you get back on your feet
so im not worried all night while im trying to sleep
turn your back towards the darkness. watch the light
i need to know you are safe for the night

baby i know you heart is hurting and mine is too
it puts my heart to death when i see what you do
life is beautiful. never look at it any other way
dont do this to yourself, remember everything its gonna be okay
