Kristallnacht (Night Of Broken Glass) Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Kristallnacht (Night Of Broken Glass)

Rating: 5.0

Kristallnacht (Night of Broken Glass)

The streets are littered with broken glass
Jewish businesses set on fire
German Nazis' campaign of terror
Predecessor to the Holocaust
One hundred Jewish people now dead
Seven thousand businesses damaged
Hundreds of synagogues homes and schools
And graveyards totally vandalized
Thirty thousand Jewish men arrested
So many sent to concentration camps
Released but forced to leave Aryan land
Over one hundred thousand flee Germany
International community?
Outraged, but to what significance?
The Nazis got away with murder
Only to create the Holocaust
Six million Jews on our conscience!

Sandra, had the international community responded with severe consequences, perhaps, the Holocaust would have been prevented. That being said, the international community allows genocide to continue. When we will ever learn? Thank you for your positive response.
