Letter To Jesus
If I had met You
from the beginning,
maybe I would have never suffered
a long defeat
to become a ruin.
I would have searched for
a solution to change my life.
Even so, no one could stop me
from reaching the Light.
So much I needed you, Jesus.
I have climbed my inner mountain
to be with You.
I have no courage
to abandon Your way.
I don't want to fall again.
I tried to have a positive attitude and
to achieve the right mindset.
I tried to be a new, wise person.
I felt deeply inside that
You could completely awaken me.
I felt Your love,
and I understood Your teachings.
I understand that
only through Your Divinity
I can reach Heaven.
This love, I feel inside for You,
is a proof of Your existence.
You are eternal.
I want to survive
For being with You.

Hi, Marieta! Aware of you now from your comment on my poem, I’m exploring your poetry. On this one I relate to the opening sentence. I tend to think now, though, that all of us need to experience a ruin, a desperation, to get serious with God. Yes, love is the best proof of God’s existence. Like the wind which is itself invisible, we can see love’s effects. -Glen
