Limerick R48 Karnataka Natak Poem by Rajnish Manga

Limerick R48 Karnataka Natak

Rating: 5.0

(1)
Nobody has the majority- So the ruckus;
Still everybody wants to board omnibus;
Manipulations in top gear,
Things are pretty familiar,
Poaching and politics are synonymous.

(2)
In a hung Assembly, Guv is whole sole;
Legal experts are called in to plug hole;
They are generally divided,
Can be unanimous provided,
They help the Governor to get his goal.

(3)
BJP stalwart BSY has taken the oath;
Ditching the Congress and JD(S) both;
We knew it in advance,
Who will get the chance,
As Raj Bhawan was ready with the broth.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
In the Southern State of Karnataka (India) , Assembly Elections were held recently and results were announced subsequently. No party could get clear majority i.e. more than 50% seats. BJP emerged as the single largest party having won 104 seats. On the other side, Congress and JD(S) won 78 and 37 seats respectively. Right then Congress offered support to JD(S) which was duly accepted by the latter. BJP as well as JDS (supported by Congress) both met the Governor and offered to form the government. The Governor has invited BJP.

I think that the Governor was right to invite BJP, as they had the most votes and won the most seats. The reverse happened in NZ when three minority parties combined to form a coalition government. National, which easily won the most votes, unfairly missed out. 'Poaching and politics are synonymous'.

On three earlier occasions, during the last one year, Congress Party has been pushed behind in the first place though it won maximum number of seats in state assemblies of Goa, Mizoram and Manipur. No full stop for political manipulations.

Rajnish ji, this is a wonderful title- Karnataka Nataka. It almost sounds like Bharata Natyam or Karnataka Natyam! I really enjoyed reading it. I have never read a Limerick on Politics specially Indian politics. This Limerick is Superb! It is not only poetic but a work of art.100+++

The political proceedings in Karnataka turned out to be highly dramatic. Therefore, Karnataka Nataka or Karnataka Natyam carry the spirit of the narrative. Thanks for your appreciative words, Geeta ji.
