Lonely Waters Poem by Barry Lindelihle Mvelase

Lonely Waters

Rating: 5.0

You look beautiful and attractive especially from a distance.
Just like ordinary waters, but as quiet and as clear.
All alone surrounded by a horrible crowd of little trees.
No contact between you and other waters.
You are just a lonely little dam.

You look beautiful by the day and lovely at night.
Everybody likes to come to your close, to touch your purity.
They wish to discover your mystery.
But no one dares to try; no one is brave to come that closer.
Only those ununderstandable old men.

So quiet and so still as pure and clear as a diamond.
Something lies beneath you they all comment.
Whether amazingly good or horrible, who knows?
Why find it hard to approach them and them you.
No one knows about your reality.

If you could flood all the surrounding trees away.
And smile to them and them to you as to the sun.
On your bank they would joyfully sit and giggle.
With their hands they would approach to your purity.
And fish of the greatest fish that lie beneath you.
Oh you peculiar lonely waters

I love it. It's mysterious, and intriguing.

this is a magnifiscent tale, suitable for relating to a lonely beauty yet filled with natural appeal. It's like that one beautiful girl which no one understands beyond her beauty, so she remains isolated even though she is forever crowded by little ignorant souls. this poem is magestic, simplistic and classic in it's encompassing spirit of nature, beauty and connectedness. well written!

we look at the 'lonely waters' filled up with such array of colors beyond the spectrum and 'clear as a diamond', if it may.

Food, water and air are the main source of life and this poem is dedicated to the pure water very nicely.

Good imaginative piece Barry...the images you build on the sight of a vast pool of stagnant water are really heart robbing...good work i repeat...thanks...10

While I can marvel at the wonderful language and what I suppose to be metaphors included in this piece. I simply did not have a clue to its meaning and therefore I can make no real statement about the contents. I just don't know. GW62
