Longing Poem by Practicing Poetess

Longing

Rating: 4.5

If you knew
How I want you
You'd try to find a way
To come here
And to be near
And for that time, you'd stay
If I said
Please rest your head
The world is ours today
Would you trust
I think you must
That I won't go away
Hold me tight
On this dark night
For time will not stand still
Need you now
To tell me how
You really, truly feel
Now I know
That you must go
Your work calls you away
I'll hold on
While you are gone
Until our next, sweet day
