May We All Live Life Poem by Susan Williams

May We All Live Life

Rating: 4.9

.
May we all live life
to the point where we don't
waste one single moment of it.
May we daily find
beauty where there is beauty,
ugliness where there is ugliness,
wisdom where there is wisdom,
ignorance where there is ignorance,
joy where there is joy,
sorrow where there is sorrow,
thanksgiving where blessings daily abound,
and endurance where there is trial.
.......And thereby may we all build
....................a captivating and compassionate soul.

You celebrate things for what they are, and not as you might wish them to be. It's a tough position to hold and the litany at the center of the poem is you inculcating these ideas to persuade yourself as well as us. But what makes your poem so wonderful and marvelous is the purpose behind these acts of faith to build A CAPTIVATING AND COMPASSIONATE SOUL! ! Amen to that! ! This is the genuine truth of your poem: Salvation is not stasis in heaven, all joy and selfhood. It is a soul still engaged in helping the world and its people achieve salvation. More AMENS which means so be it. Susan, do you know Keats's letter on SOUL MAKING?

It is so rewarding when a reader gets it, gets the totality of it! Makes a writer do a happy dance [mentally in my case since I am not and never have been coordinated in the dancing field]. Yes to more of the Amen and Amen in our lives. My, between you and Tom I am going to have to cycle up my reading- -Keat's Soul Making and poetry by St. Jean Perse are now on the to-do list! Thank you, Daniel, you are very supportive of the PH members and it is appreciated.

A day in the life is a day living each moment as a gift, seeing things for what they are and dealing with them with dignity building up others along the way, ...and to what end? ...that we may enjoy the night, this poem is a little different than your others, I really love them all but this one is my favorite! !

WoW, Bil! ! ! . Got my head spinning there. The only thing I could come up with to account for its difference is that I think this one is more intellectual than emotional...? ? ? I am very into trying to get the reader through his heart, but not apt to try to reach through the mind. I am glad that you see this piece in a favorable light- I was afraid people would go ho-hum and walk away untouched. So thank you very much for the encouragement. :)

WoW! ! ! ! Thank you Rebecca! ! ! ! Now those are some encouraging words for this heart of mine to hear. I never think of myself as an evangelist- -but maybe this poem says come hither and learn of Him and that would please me to no end! Thank you for your encouraging words and those starry-eyed 10's! ! ! !
