Metropolis Of You Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Metropolis Of You

Inside my heart lies a city comprised of the many times my heart flutters for you.
Inside of my ear lies a metropolis, one of the many thoughts that come and go of you.
With many twists and turns there is an avenue, one with no red light.
This is where you can be found as I visit here the most.
Over by the country side with trimmed grass and leaflets of bouquets.
If I were to pick just one, I'd take away from the beauty that is you.
Each one more beautiful than the next.
Delicate petals, blossomed in violet.
I lay beside them often. Basking in the soil that makes them perfect.
There isn't just one attribute that makes one better than the next.
Here there are no phones, no worldly distractions.
Just the thought of you
