He hides underneath his Star Wars comforter
As he's frightened of the dark
He can't sleep because of the monsters
Under his bed
He's crying for his parents to come home
But they are having a date night
I just babysitting
I looked under the bed to see
What's scaring him
And saw nothing, but his toys
I said I would stay with him. holding his hand
Until he falls asleep
I was holding on to him until I was awakened
By his parents handing my play
The comforting presence of a caring babysitter, makes the monsters go away. A wonderful poem!
Magnificently written! .. And ever so heart felt! .. Endless 10'S And Stars! ..++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ever so heart touching! .. The fears of the night conjured up in a little boys mind! ..
LeeAnn, if 'play' isn't a typo, then your last line takes the poem a notch higher. Either way, the poem is great and a very enjoyable read!
The fear that all children have of monsters is so brilliantly, and wonderfully, expressed in this marvelous poem. Sometimes those monsters aren't the imaginary ones under the bed.
