To be bold
Yet not scold
Times so cold
Love this poem, you can interpret it so many different ways! My take: child may feel cold for not being scold yet mother shown love by offering freedom and right, times come when child needs to live own life with fails and ups alike.

At a time when relationships have become so cold, parents have to be very careful in dealing with their children. When they err or make undue demands, parents should be bold enough to correct them or say an emphatic 'No'. But harsh chastisement will only create a negative impact, gentle persuasion is the better way! So much said in three simple lines!
