My Escape - Poem by Jessica Mitchell

My eyes fly open
Searching for some peace
The nightmares that poisen my dreams
Never seem to cease

The memories of the past
Curse my every thoguht
The memories of the happiness
That I have always sought

His arms tighten around me
His breath warm on my ear
His love he has for me
I will always hold dear

He is my rescue
His smiling keeps me going
His encourging words
Are what keeping me growing

When I am with him, I; m safe
When I am with him, I can escape
