My Father No Longer. Poem by Crystal Pierce

My Father No Longer.

Rating: 5.0

I've been put through hell.
Therefore I don't need a map because I know it well.

This is such a stupid thing to say.
But I wish he'd die today.

My step father knows nothing but hate.
And he tries to love me but it's to late.

He doesn't try to think from my point of view.
Those who do are few.

Why can't he just try to understand,
that everything doesn't go according to plan

Just because he's childhood was bad
Doesn't mean he makes ours, cause now I'm wishing I was with my real dad.

He should just go ahead and leave.
He's a father no longer to me.

Hi Christya, The effect of withering family on children huge. When I read your poem, I just understand the importance of the traditional Indian family values. The family relationships thrive, in spite of minor differences between husband and wife. And try to they live together, make a life together, for their children. Divorces and re-marriages affect the children most. Take care!
