My First Kyrielle

I've never tried a verse like this;
Will it succeed or will it miss?
I like the challenge that it brings;
We always should attempt new things.

You can't get stuck in some old rut;
Forget your fears and trust your gut.
Success is grand but failure stings;
We always should attempt new things.

There are so many types of verse;
So try a few; just be diverse.
The song is sweet the victor sings;
We always should attempt new things.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My sister told me about a pattern of sonnet called a Kyrielle sonnet and suggested I write one. I did, but did not post it on Poem Hunter. I thought that maybe it was good enough to save for a contest, and most contests only accept unpublished poems

Poem Hunter does not have a category for Kyrielle sonnets anyway, but they do have one for Kyrielle, so I looked up the guidelines for a Kyrielle and decided to try and write one. This poem is the result.

" A Kyrielle is a French form of rhyming poetry written in quatrains (a stanza consisting of 4 lines) , and each quatrain contains a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza) . Each line within the poem consists of only eight syllables." from Google. bri :)

Dear Kim, your poetic Kyrielle result is to this old poet a most large insult. You admit right in it that failure stings, and I need no pain a poem may bring... , so try it yourself, and i guess you DID, but don't push your style on this old kid. to MyPoemList bri ;)
