My Life Poem by Indranil Bhaduri

My Life

Rating: 4.9

There she was, my life.
My living heart, my vivid soul!
Loved her, kissed her, missed her,
Each moment and every tomorrow.
My shaking fingers wiped the tears
From her dreamy eyes,
Every time they dropped,
Like pearls of sorrow,
And how I leaped in jubilation
Glancing at her rosy glow,
Full of heartfelt laughter,
Diving in intense passion,
As gaiety and romance swept me all over,
Hitting with the cupid's arrow,
And immersing myself in her flying kisses
Whispering her name in the bright sunny days,
Embracing her softly in the misty mornings,
Hugging her tight in the lovely rains!

And as I saw her,
Lying down with crimson roses all over,
Eyes closed with a hint of rift,
Causing deadly pain in my broken mind,
Could not wipe the small droplets of water
Rolling down my dry cheeks,
As my life was on her way
To begin her solitary journey
Leaving a barren heart
And a half burnt candle behind!

Indranil, I'm big on free form; blank verse, end-stopped line, symbols, paradox...so I like your poem. I believe it is a work in progress. Keep writing.
