My Pain You Gain Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

My Pain You Gain

Rating: 5.0

You break me to pieces
A plaything like
And ask me to keep smiling
Smiling I would remain
If that would make you happy again

Why only should I smile?
I'd rather laugh at will
Laugh heartily at your face
No sarcasm my mate

For no pain I do have
No feelings I do have
What I lost, my heart,
That wasn't mine so far!

It rests with you in chain
Its pain also you gain!

A powerful and incisive poem. When our heart is full of pain, it will become indifferent to any feeling. It becomes numb on love to whoever caused the pain. Strong and incisive words that cut like a knife.

A very soft handling of and a sensible commentary on a complex human relationship. Thanks for sharing this fine poem.
