My son will be all that I wanted to be,
he will be a promoter of truth
an enhancer of peace;
he will be an eliminator of injustice
a suppressor of sin;
he will be a chaser of greatness
a successor of fame;
he will not seek love
love will seek him;
he will conquer no voracity
but contentment will surround him;
he will deprive none of compassion
though the jealous will condemn him;
he will work with his dreams silently
yet the world will know him;
for now is just the beginning
as days and years are his journeys;
and if he dies mid-way
he will have no regrets;
as remorse will never abide in him
for he has lived well
and never lacked serenity…
He has walked from my womb
with a lesson of braveness instilled in him;
he will go on even if he has stumbled
and rise above all hurdles;
He has within him the courage of his promise
that he will be what I wanted to be;
he will do all those unfinished tasks
and show in him the mettle I was made of;
he will display the politeness you seek
he will hold your hand as long as you ask;
and as you see him you will remember me
for he is the life from me,
the pulse from within me
he is the wave that rushes up
to meet the anguish I conceal;
he is the hope that I uphold,
he will carry forward my wars
though he will hold no swords;
he will aspire all that I wanted to
for he is the heartbeat I started;
and yet when I have to depart from this earth
he will travel alone the miles of his life
he will break down with pain
when he will think of me,
for he will tell himself
'Mother I did all this for you
and you are just not there
when I am what you wanted me to be! '
Such a proud mother of your sons achievements on this his birthday. Have him near you to watch his talent grow.
