My Tears Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

My Tears

Rating: 5.0

My tears aren't replacing you
They want to hold you in their arms
As they are blinding me with an eternal sadness

It's on repeat
While I close my eyes at the end of the day
My tears hold me like a mother
But they can't embrace tighter
As I don't feel their hold
However, they keep comin'

LeeAnn, this poem, along with all of your work, captures the essence of a truly empathic soul. To express loss and depression so clearly, and so succinctly, is indeed a true sign of a great poetess. Kudos to you, poetess friend!

Those opening lines are stunning! The rest of the poem flows naturally like a river to the ocean. Tears are what we have when there's knowone left to hold
