My Thoughts Do Wander Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

My Thoughts Do Wander

Rating: 5.0

My thoughts do wander
Like the restless waves upon the sea,
To lovers new and lovers old
And loves not meant to be,
Yet still my heart is aching
As I think of days gone by,
And all the hopes and dreams I had
Now vanished in the sky.

My thoughts do wander
Like the ever-changing wind that blows,
Not caring where it's heading to
Or wandering where it goes,
Yet still my heart is aching
As I think of you so long,
And all my hopes and dreams I had
That seemed to turn out wrong.

My thoughts do wander
Like the endless river flowing by,
To far and distant places where
My soul shall always lie,
Yet still my heart is aching
As I think of times now passed,
And all my hopes and dreams I had
That just could never last.

My thoughts do wander
Like the clouds that float so high above,
Thinking of the days gone by
And unrequited love,
Yet still my heart is aching
For I long to be with you,
But all my hopes and dreams I had
Now never will come true.
