What is this ache?
Feeding on you
Emptying you
It's not headache
It's not heartache
It's not felt in body
But it's there
Like a microscopic pest
Gnawing away at your
Will to live.
I absolutely agree with the comment of below esteemed poetess! The philosophical undertone is noteworthy!
A very intriguing write. I will be going through the day wondering what this ache is... could it be that since we are all going to die eventually, that this ache is the body's timepiece reminding us that life is achingly temporary? Ah, but you have me thinking sad thoughts, my dear. Well done, poetry should unsettle in one way or another
And we all go through this phase in our lives, they come and go leaving indelible marks behind. Nice one.10
The gnawing feeling, a hole to be filled, the poetic mind and spirit is one that lives with one foot in the practical landscape and the other in a mystical realm. Fulfillment, understanding and bliss have shades of color and wonder unseen by the average person. Your window to the world is clearer than most, you can be filled to overflowing with all that you see and feel. All of the countless books of psychology and philosophy are small things compared to being with your equal.
Thanku so much for such generous comments edmund. Its too big a compliment. Im overwhelmed.
The cure for at least one type of depression is companionship. But all types of depression are still a mystery. Well written.
