Names 2 - Poem by David Harris

When we are born
we are given a name
that last our whole life through,
but as the time progresses
we sometimes acquire other
names – nicknames,
and they too can follow us
through our lives too.
Some derive from our own name
while others originate
from someone’s playful imagination.
No matter what name people care to call us
we are just the same person inside.
