Night Is Alive Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Night Is Alive

Rating: 5.0

The night is alive
In the silence of the river
There's a mystery
In the smile of the moon
We look divine
In each other's thoughts
Floating endlessly
On love's soaring vision
Till we meet
Near snow-capped pines
With moonbeams waltzing
On the waters
And stars calling out
Our names
Our minds dancing
Like planets
In an ecstatic motion
Of perennial surrender
To the Beloved.

Beautiful Nosheen.... simply beautiful! The romance the lovers feel is reflected by the elements and the celestial bodies and the whole Earth and sky lying soaked in a celestial beauty while the adoring duo conjoin their souls in ecstatic motion pledging eternal surrender! The mystique beauty of the poem is enhanced through a magnificent image! Top marks!

Hi Nosheen, A beautiful poem, opening with very profound expression of nature's beauty: The night is alive In the silence of the river There's a mystery In the smile of the moon We look divine In each other's thoughts.. And Floating endlessly On Love's soaring vision? And the lovers meet With moonbeams waltzing On the waters And stars calling out Our names The ecstasy and expectations of love expressed in such fine language and metaphors that the poem carries away the reader to the fairyland of love, without one ever noticing it.. Loved it. Shall come back to read... Did I relive my old days of love! 100+++ Pl look for this poem in My Fav Poems..

To be the center of the universe. As star call out their names. Here at last upon this snow capped stage beneath the smiling moon is the culmination of all creation. The joining of two in each other's thoughts floating endlessly. Only the ink from a poet's pen that appreciates a flawed world could capture the victorious wonder and exhilaration of two in complete surrender to blissful love.

Is this a piece of Ekphrasis? Your words fit perfectly with the picture here. You have a way of creating a mood with your beautiful imagery. Love it Nosheen. Keep writing! :)

Your theme is well expressed in the last line PERENNIAL SURRENDER TO THE BELOVED. The benefits of that surrender not only animate the Night but confirm the reality of Love. The imagery is lavish and ecstatic, with human beings - our small selves - playing with immense objects like planets, suns, rivers as if the scale of things has collapsed in the sheer wonder of shared love. The word surrender is so ironic: this surrender opens vistas of delight and releases treasures beyond measure. How? By transcending egoism through SURRENDER PERENNIAL TO THE BELOVED, you and your Beloved inherit the Universe. It's hyperbole worthy of Hafez and the true believers in L-O-V-E.
