You lay there in your thoughts,
That unwelcome intrusion
Like the tinnitus, that gift
Given by the military,
That remains until overtaken
Either by sleep, or the alarm.
Spirals like swirling black holes
Capturing suns and planets
Go round and round in your
Head. Thinking of the direction
Black holes swirl through doesn't
Help. Do they have tinnitus?
Loneliness is the only synergy
With every star or passing comet.
Touching that illusive gift of sleep
And melting away into the night,
That welcome amnesia of the
Stars silently crossing space
They also have ticking body clocks
As they travel through time,
Gently, silently, sleep overtakes you
Like melting snow flakes.
Beautiful poem with crystalline imagery. Wonderful poetic expressions. Yes, we are in the same boat, having the same night song. A poetic gem. Top Marks! ! ! !
Slowly, surely and gently like melting snowflakes, the poem erases all unwelcome intrusions.
Gently gently the poem takes over the mind. Full *************
