No Dime A Dozen
She's not an ordinary dime-a-dozen,
She's an original.
She knows who she is, and
She's not afraid to say so.
Confident, she speaks her mind
She's not a clone, oh no.
Poised beyond her years, she
Grasps life by the horns, and goes.
She's always on an even keel,
With far more highs than lows.
And pure magnetic charm gains her
A ton of friends, no foes.
This little Miss will always end
Up smelling like a rose.
And how to be at peace with self,
The way for us, she shows.

Thank you for the compliment, Londis! This poem was actually inspired by Alessia Cara, a young Italian dynamo female vocalist who refuses to allow the music industry to shove her into their mold. She recorded a lovely song, 'Scars to your beautiful' with a powerful accompanying video (which you can probably access on youtube.) Her song's theme is that we're ALL beautiful, not just the perfect ones. She became famous as a teenager, and is doing quite well! Thank you for commenting.
