It begins with the eyes
In locked gaze,
Moves to a soft kiss
Then, a longer one.
As we listen to our breathing,
You pull me closer to you
As though you want
No space at all between us.
Warm closeness, reassuring
We pull away, lock eyes again, searching.
I reach for the top button of your shirt.
You offer no resistance.
The door closes;
The rest is left to the imagination.
The sense of intimacy and closeness is very reassuring to me. Love walks through this fine poem, until the door closes.
Thanks, Michael. (We both know that love continued to walk, even after the door closed. That's why this poem works!) ;)
Another Very Beautiful One Of Love And Intimacy! ! ! ! ! Excellently Created! ! ! ! ! With An Adorable Ending! ! ! ! ! Thank You So Much For Sharing This! ! ! ! ! Many 10S! ! ! ! ! +++++
Thank you, Bec! I like to keep people in suspense.... Or, at least give them an opportunity to exercise their imaginations. Imagination is very vital to a writer. Thanks again.
OOPS! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Not tame either!
Thanks for the laugh, Guy- - you made my day! You are so right about not tame, either- - A subtle hint of sensuousness. In my estimation, the gentle imagination is far preferable to getting smacked in the face with something. A little boy was once asked which he liked better, radio or television. Without hesitation, he replied, Radio. Surprised, the man who'd done the asking said, Radio? And why is that? Said the wise little boy, Because the pictures are bettter!

Aha! The magic word [IMAGINATION]. The key to everything both good and evil...but much more effective for good, as proven by your poem.
Thanks so much, Londis! What a sweet comment! I think a bit of mystique is much more effective than putting it all out there.Poems that are too graphic sort of ruin the effect and are a big letdown- - like opening your presents before Christmas morning arrives. Nothing to anticipate anymore.
