No Solace In The Sun Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

No Solace In The Sun

Rating: 5.0

Staring at my mother's pair of dollar-store
Still life portraits
My eyes grow heavy as the day prolongs
There's nothing but solitude to keep me company
I have found no solace in the sun
Only on dreary days of ice and snow
I am burdened to keep to myself
As my frail mother sleeps whom
Ready for the grave she is preparing
I just wander the halls for someone
But find there's no answer there
My heart drowns in sorrow
And I continue to fall into the silence
My words, suddenly, useless

Solitude is the best companion of a lonely person dear LeAnn. It's a meaningful poem.

Dear LeeAnn, nobody can take your loneliness away but you have fellow poets here on this site to support you despite being continents away. Give your mum the best of Christmas's and take care.
