Mother didn't like politicians of any party,
said they were getting worse, not improving.
She said they lied. I asked how to tell when.
She said 'When their lips are moving.'
The parting line gave me a throaty chuckle, undetected but by dogs, myself, and maybe some politicians. Did your mom vote for Roosevelt (Teddy) or Alton Brooks Parker? ? ?
My mother never voted for a loser, but she was not yet born when Parker ran against Roosevelt (1904) .
Which means and = Always. Your poem, so true, so great! Thank you.

If possible I'd have given Ron's verse 5 stars: 1 for good grammar,1 for rhyming,1 for humor,1 for brevity, and the last for his friendship on PH. : ) bri
