The frog sat by the peaceful pond
and marveled at the frilly frond
but said nothing.
That silly frog just didn't know -
approaching was a sneaky crow
that was hungry.
The crow swooped down and grabbed his head -
oh, fateful moment of pure dread
for the frog!
It happened on a cloudy day.
The frog had nothing much to say;
he just croaked.
Excellent play on words, since 'croaked' has more than one meaning!
A beautiful poem with great rhyme and rhythm.Lovely story.
Though Kim alluded to 'play on words', he did not say 'croaked' can mean both 'died' and 'made a frog sound' (like 'bow wow' for a dog. ;) bri
FINALLY PH allows me to comment. I love this; it's almost as good as, but shorter than, my poem......
Not to be as as naive as a frog, as there are clever crows who would not give you a chance!
A delightful poem of the frog and crow with rhyming melody. Thank you Ron. Enjoyed reading it.....10

Not even Aesop's fables, would have been this sad! However, very clever play on words, ' he just croked'
