O’ carry me to distant shores
To a place so far away…
On the wings of love, up in the sky
To find my childhood days…
So lift me high upon the wind
To where the seagulls fly
I’ll follow them to find my home
Where my parents lived and died
The nest is now so hollow
A ray of hope is gone
Where shall I go to find a home?
Where birds sing a song
My heart aches, not to think
You’ll not be there to welcome me
To give me the love, you always gave
And now it just seems history.
Yet I’ll be there to pay respect
For all that you've done for me
I’ll gather sweet memories all along...
And bring them back with me.
A lovely tribute to your parents Meena. I am pleased you were inspired to write this poem, well done.
WOW! ! ! Your poem shows that you really crave for your lost but beautiful childhood. Very well expressed. My vote is 10
