Ocimum Tenuiflorum Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Ocimum Tenuiflorum

Rating: 5.0

Writing a poem with scientific name
Using the title for the holy basil,
Aroma of perennial plant motivates,
Family Lamiaceae this belongs into,
It is seen in Indian Sub-continent
And cultivated in whole South Asia,
It is very rich in medicinal values.

The Holy Basil is used in treatments,
This treats fever, asthma, lungs
And heart diseases and also stress,
Power of healing is hidden within,
More we speak, less it will become.

Leaf of this flower refreshes mouth,
For nice dental care it benefits us,
Growing from soil this spreads aroma,
Flowering twigs touche the sky of mind,
A dreamy veil is unveiled at a moment,
Tender green leaves are seen in reality,
Climbing up above our emotional state,
Ocimum Tenuiflorum gives us pleasure.

Swinging in tender wind, leaves in pair,
Facing towards each other these gossip,
Dependency and love unite the power,
Winning hearts of billions of people,
The leaves now spread winning joy.

A wonderful poem with a great theme. Very informative. It captures the great attributes of Holy Basil. It has various benefits; for medicinal purposes, enhances the aroma of food among others. The closure lines of this poem are amazing. Superbly penned.10++++
