Ash clouds float
In scattered slants of light,
Like flies in a frozen breach,
Blankets of black cotton pad the ground
From ashes to ashes they preach.
So then, that's all we keep
From where life and flesh once stood,
Lie ashes now…we weep.
Blackens the streets this ash they wreak
Which tugs at our beaten souls,
Together as one their hearts they speak
To calmly these ashes extol.
Another one off the street they say,
And ask us why we grieve
I hope to see his dream one day
Where all men can freely breathe.
Another one off the street they say, And ask us why we grieve I hope to see his dream one day Where all men can freely breathe.......Superb written the ODE to George Floyd.......congrats....deserve 10+
Nowadays George Floyd is such a name that no one will forget this easily, I think, even forgetfully no one will forget..... In literature, in newspaper, in air-media, in social working, in praying, in protesting in on line free lancing, in writing, in reading, in reciting.......everywhere and everytime nowadays this name becomes part and parcel! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
From ashes to ashes they preach! ! ! But, let us reach out to the world with the muse of peace and love! ! Uplifting righteous morals without RACISM. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
" Where all men can freely breathe? " A great tribute to the victim of racial discrimination. Well deserved poem of the day.
