Oh, Reigning Queen Of The Sky Poem by Valsa George

Oh, Reigning Queen Of The Sky

Rating: 5.0

Oh Moon, the shining lantern of the sky!
the brightest light set ablaze in the dark!
glorious boon, heaven freely granted!
committed guardian of the night!

you appear each night to lead the wayfarers,
stumbling across the murky faraway streets,
the ones lost in the labyrinth of darkness
shedding down beams of light on their way
you stay aloft in the firmament in deep solitude
yet in benevolent contact with all creation

the young and the old fall under your mesmerizing spell
we feel your aura embracing the whole of humanity
on seeing you, pure ecstasy warms our skin
and in elation, we whisper - "How beautiful you are! "

Thanks for paying such a glowing tribute to the 'the shining lantern of the sky'! 'you stay aloft in the firmament in deep solitude yet in benevolent contact with all creation' - loved the poetic description with appropriate vocabulary.

I'm transported right to the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet. An absolutely beautiful poem, Valsa.

Such a beautiful poem on the Moon, dear Poetess Valsa. We, the classical dancers, portray the moon with mudras almost in all dances that we perform but as yet, i have never been able to write a verse on the moon. You have penned it with perfection. Enjoyed reading this beautiful poem....10
