We're supposed to go to the beach today
but it's raining cats and dogs.
Normally that would keep us here
in the hotel, but this tour
is already paid for.
There is water on the floor
in the hall and dripping from
the ceiling there but thankfully
our room is still dry
so far.
Two taxis have arrived
to pick up people since I
started looking out the window
and writing these words, but no sign
so far of our tour van. It's overdue.
Yesterday we were told
by our tour guide
that this bay is the second-largest
in the world.
There is now a rain river
coming under the highway
in front of the hotel.
Yesterday there was continuous beach.
Now the sand has been washed away
four feet deep and thirty feet wide,
and an angry brown river
is churning into the ocean.
Will this rain never stop?
Gotta go. Our tour bus just arrived.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the narrative as well as the notes. I also had a some what similar experience long back. Anxiety mixed with excitement.. Wonderful.
Have a go at putting what happened later into 'A Journal Entry 2: The Aftermath'

Thank you for sharing. It is lovely to have an insight of Poets. Amazing picture too.
The picture is Copacabana Beach at Rio de Janeiro, the most beautiful city in the world IMHO.
